I believe we've been heading toward socialism for some time. I'm not as afraid of socialism itself, as I am afraid of the collective fear of socialism. We do have progressive taxes which are in a sense wealth redistribution, but most wouldn't advocate a regressive tax policy. Regardless the President would have no control over it.
