Roxana-Mayer-Pediatric-Primary-Care-Physician-600x464

Yep, when you can't beat 'em, simply lie.

Dr. Roxana Mayer isn't really a pediatric primary care physician, nor is she even a doctor.

Watch the video below:

Notice the plan of attack used by Ms. Mayer. First, she compliments the health care system here in the United States, the classic strategy to lower the guard of the opposition by agreeing with them. She then changes her demeanor and goes for the kill with "However, where we're deficient..."

After sounding like a 5th grader giving their first speech, she says "I know, because I'm a general practitioner, and we are a dying breed." The general practitioners, or those that play them on TV?

Mayer throws out some softball questions, then asks how it will affect her, as a "PCP." Representative Jackson Lee offers her applause, not once - but twice! The ruse is carried even further when she is asked how long she has been practicing and responds "four years."

From there, Jackson Lee uses these "questions" to get in to her talking points regarding how wonderful the new system will be. This is all fine and good, unless you are creating fake doctors that appear to show support for your system.

Skeptical folks will ask - how do you know she isn't a doctor? Patterico did the leg work on this one using common sense. First, a search for Roxana Mayer was done with the American Medical Association.

Next, let's check the Texas Medical Association:

Must be a coincidence...

Of course, it doesn't help that Roxana was in charge of an "astroturf" event for Barack Obama in the 2008 primaries.

I suppose it is hard to believe anything that is even remotely related to Sheila Jackson Lee, especially after her lovely town hall that emphasized how she felt about her constituents' concerns:
